GIVEAWAY: Blooming Writers/El escritor floreciente

Welcome to I Teach Dual Language blog's very first giveaway!  This week, we are offering a resource from the sponsor of this blog, EL Saber Enterprises.  The title of the resource is El escritor floreciente: Dándole vida a mis palabras, a mi mundo/Blooming Writer: Bring to Life My Words, My World.    You can read more about how this resource can be used in your classroom here.
Blooming Writer
Please note, this is not the actual cover of the revised resource.  The resource that will be given away is targeted to grades K-2.  However, after teaching some of the lessons, I think they could easily be stretched down to PK and up to grade 3.
Do you want to win a free copy of this awesome resource?  Here's how you can get up to 4 entries:
  1. Leave a comment here telling us your favorite mentor text (Spanish or English) to use when teaching writing to your students.
  2. Become a follower of iteachduallanguage.blogspot.com and leave a comment here telling us that you did.
  3. "Like" EL Saber Enterprises on Facebook and leave a comment here telling us that you did.
  4. Blog about our giveaway and leave a comment here with a link to your post.

I talked with several vendors at the NABE Conference and we look forward to oroviding more giveaways of fantastic resources for the bilingual/dual-language classroom.  Thanks for helping us spread the word!

This giveaway will be closed on Friday at 12:00 PM CST and the winner will be announced at 3:00 PM CST.  Good luck!

  16. Eric Carle's books are always good for beginner readers, since they are predictable. For second grade I prefer anything they can relate to and make connections. Also, traditional fairy tales are a favorite!!

  17. My favorite mentor texts for older students are the Judy Moody/ Stink series by Megan Mcdonald. The fact that they are appealing to both male and female students helps teach my students literacy. Also, they are available in both English and Spanish.
